PARIS, FRANCE
Stratocore and the University of Chicago have entered into an agreement to expand the use of PPMS across the University’s core research facilities.
PPMS is already in operation in five core facilities at the University. Under the agreement, additional facilities will progressively adopt the platform as the University expands the use of a shared system for managing its research infrastructure.
The agreement covers up to 40 facilities and around 400 instruments over a four-year term, providing a scalable framework for coordinating operations as the network of shared research resources continues to grow.
PPMS is being introduced as the University of Chicago transitions from the internally developed OSRF billing system, which previously supported equipment bookings and financial administration for shared research facilities.
The University’s core research facilities provide advanced instrumentation and expertise to researchers across multiple departments and disciplines, supporting a wide range of scientific and technical activities.
PPMS will operate alongside the University’s Single Sign-On (SSO) environment and Oracle Financials, linking facility management with existing authentication and financial workflows.
“Shared research facilities play a central role in enabling collaboration across disciplines,” said Mathieu Marchand, President, CTO and Co-founder of Stratocore. “Expanding the use of PPMS at the University of Chicago will support the coordination of these facilities while helping teams manage access, resources and operations across a complex research environment.”
Implementation is currently being carried out by Stratocore alongside key University stakeholders and core facility teams.
